Worldwide Hotels Group commemorated its launch as well as the group’s 25th anniversary – Mr Choo Chong Ngen, Group Chairman and Ms Carolyn Choo, Managing Director of Worldwide Hotels Group celebrated with over 300 guests at Suntec City Convention Centre. Minister for Home Affairs and Minister for Law, Mr K Shanmugam, graced the event as Guest of Honour.

The launch of Worldwide Hotels marks the consolidation of V Hotel, Hotel Boss, Hotel Mi, Value Hotel, Venue Hotel and Hotel 81 under one group. With this, the hospitality company is now Singapore’s largest homegrown tourist class hotel group and it strives to be a significant player in the global hospitality scene with eight properties overseas and more to come.

In celebration of this joyous occasion, Worldwide Hotels-Choo Chong Ngen Foundation made donations to two organisations as a form of giving back to the society. Donations of S$2million was made to the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and S$50,000 to Chong Pang CCC Community Development and Welfare Fund in support of providing assistance and opportunity to students from families with lower income and the needy.

A sum of S$2million was donated to the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) to promote education for students from low-income families. The donation will be matched by a Singapore government grant, resulting in a total contribution of $5 million to the ITE Education Fund. Worldwide Hotels is proud to support ITE’s mission of creating opportunities for students to acquire skills, knowledge and values for employability and lifelong learning. The ITE Education Fund helps alleviate the financial burden of needy students so that no deserving students will miss out on a quality post-secondary education.

Similarly, S$50,000 was made to Chong Pang CCC Community Development and Welfare Fund to benefit students through bursaries and education funding support as well as needy residents who would require social assistance. To date, more than 2,000 families have benefitted from this fund and Worldwide Hotels hope that more will get their support through this.
